Introducing... Bite-size tips and advice videos

Welcome to the first of our free coaching videos. Today you’ll find us sharing the following.

Tips for getting the most from Zoom and Mural

Here’s a script we use to get attendees comfortable with Zoom and/or Mural in just 20 mins: ahead of our workshops: https://lnkd.in/gDSv8CQ

And here’s a breakdown of tasks that need doing during an online workshop and how to best do them: https://lnkd.in/g8965um

Add creativity to your Zoom Calls

Making your online meetings and workshops interactive and creative can really help you get your desired results. If you share a colouring page via screen share on zoom, people can collaboratively colour it in using the annotate function. We’ve found it works well as an icebreaker or to pop up in a break when people are coming back at slightly different times. There’s a google slide deck here with a few to get you started (with thanks to Nut Meg and Arlo and Brit and Co for the colouring sheet designs)

Copywriting with Clarity

Craig has been updating his copywriting course and gathering ideas on examples to use. One of his favourite writing bloggers is Ann Wylie. He loved Ann’s take on how New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been effectively communicating during the Coronovirus crisis.

“It’s time to steal from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Writing tips, that is. Check out Cuomo’s Twitter feed and steal ideas on how to communicate effectively:

Short paragraphs. Important information gets lost in long paragraphs. So hit return more often — even on Twitter.
List lists. Make essential information stand out with bullets, numbers — or, here, dashes.
You. Speak directly to the reader, using the second person. It gets more attention and is easier to understand.
Active voice. Don’t try to avoid giving commands by using the passive voice: Masks must be worn … Instead, clearly and fearlessly instruct with the active voice: You must wear a mask …”

Take time to reflect

Emily recommends taking time at the end of each day or week to think about what has gone well. Not only is this great for your well-being, research shows that teams that do this are 23% more productive.

We’ll be sharing these tips regularly in the coming weeks, so sign up today and never miss out.
